Get unique insights into the vibrant music culture in Ghana with an intimate evening with King Ayisoba, the award winning headliner closing Copenhagen Carnival 2026. King Ayisoba will share personal stories about growing up in Ghana, following his passion to become a musician, and provide examples of his music. The talk will be moderated by Yodana Thorsdal from the board of Copenhagen Carnival.
Descending from a Frafra hunter tribe in Northern Ghana, and with great love for ancient folk music traditions as well as new genres like hiplife, punk, and dancehall, King Ayisoba beautifully unites the past and future in his music. With an uncompromising approach to tradition and renewal, alongside an explosion of trance-inducing rhythms, dance, and kologo playing in goosebump-inducing performances, you are guaranteed a moving talk and spectacular mini-concert. King Ayisoba has released seven albums, won three Ghana Music Awards, delivered intense live performances at Roskilde Festival among others, and collaborated with Pharfar (DK) and Djuma Soundsystem (NO).
